Jan 7, 1964 — Dec 5, 2025
Scriba
Eric L. Beshures, 61, a lifelong resident of Scriba, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, December 5, 2025. Beloved son, father, uncle, cousin, and friend, Eric was born on January 7, 1964. Eric was the son of Merton "Butch" and Rhea Beshures, who predeceased him.
Eric is survived by: son Eric (Cory) Beshures, of Oswego; daughter Chelsea (Jason) Plato of Fulton; son Brandon (Dionna) Beshures, of Oswego; fiancé Michelle Mannino and her sons James Baker and Ethan Hadcock of Oswego; sister Kim (Sean) Sewill, of Colorado; sister Renee (David) Beshures of Colorado; brothers Adam (Terry) Beshures and Kirk Beshures, both of Oswego. Eric is also survived by his 4-legged best friend, Hunter.
Eric proudly served as a Fireman at the Oswego Fire Department for 20 years. Eric was an A-EMT-I who was known for his ability to adapt and overcome any problems the job presented. He retired in 2012.
Eric was an avid motorcyclist and built an award-winning 911 Tribute bike shortly after the 2001 attack. Eric enjoyed hunting, boating, snowmobiling, and 4-wheeler/ATV riding. He loved improving his property with his favorite excavator and bulldozer. He was an excellent mechanic who fixed and painted many, many cars, motorcycles, and trucks.
Eric loved his family and throwing large parties in the pole barn, often with a band. If you met Eric, you were immediately a friend. He gladly helped neighbors, friends, and strangers without hesitation. His smile was contagious, and he wanted everybody to enjoy life as he did. It's not an overstatement to say he lived life to the fullest.
