Richard J. “Dick” Losurdo, 79, of Oswego, passed away after a long battle with cancer on October 6, 2026, with his loving family by his side.

Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Costa) Losurdo.

Dick worked at Lafarge Cement for many years and later retired as a bus driver with the Oswego City School District. A longtime member, he also ran the Dante Alighieri Lodge for many years.

Dick loved sports and especially enjoyed watching Yankee baseball, football, and SUNY Oswego Laker hockey. He took great pride in his home and property and always kept his lawn looking perfect. He was a huge animal lover and loved feeding his birds and walking his dogs. Most importantly, he loved his family and enjoyed his morning coffee club at Breitbeck Park with longtime friends.

Dick is survived by his wife of 59 years, Catherine “Cathy” ( Branagan) Losurdo, his children Richard J. (Shelly) Losurdo, Jennifer Losurdo, Craig R.(Kim) Losurdo, and Anthony R. (Cara) Losurdo, and his beloved grandchildren Jessica, Brandon, Kassidy, Alyssa, Ashley, Brielle, and Genevieve. He also leaves behind his great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Grady, and Baylor, his sister Joan Goodman, and nephew Michael.

At the family's request, there will be no calling hours. Donations can be made in his name to the Oswego County Animal Welfare League in Fulton.
